Nature camping at Zeltwiese Löbejün

With us you camp in the middle of our traditional orchard meadows on the Merbitzer Berg. We manage water, energy, meadows and animals so that nature is burdened as little as possible. Here you can read what this looks like in everyday life.

💧 Water in a cycle

Our site is not connected to the public sewer. We treat the wastewater ourselves: first in a fully biological small sewage treatment plant, then in a reed bed. For flushing the toilets we use a second water cycle fed by this treated grey water and by rainwater.

Our drinking water comes through a pipe from Löbejün and is additionally treated with UV light. Please use it sparingly.

☀️ Energy from sun and air

We generate our electricity with our own photovoltaic system. Solar thermal collectors heat the hot water, and a heat pump also supports the shower water.

🚲 Travelling sustainably

Two wall boxes are available for electric cars, and we drive electric ourselves. If you arrive by train, bike or on foot, our mobility bonus lets you check in from 2 pm.

🐑 Meadow care with animals

Our sheep and goats graze the land. In summer an electric robotic mower cuts the grass on the tent meadow; in the low season the sheep take over again.

🍎 Caring for the orchards

We prune and look after the trees of our orchard meadows ourselves, professionally, after training as tree wardens. Again and again we plant young fruit trees so that the meadows will be preserved in the future.

🌱 Compensation and commitment

On our land we are developing species-rich grassland that is recognised as a compensation measure in an eco-account. We are also a placement for the Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ).

Your parking fees go into these measures. What we have financed with them is shown in the compensation records in the downloads section.

🤝 You can help: separate your waste, save water, arrive by train or bike and only light fires in our fire bowls. Thank you!
